Instrument hire for young musicians
Hire is available to York Music Education students, subject to instrument availability.
Charges are due in advance and paid by monthly Direct Debit. Schools may pay termly in advance by invoice.
Monthly hire
£6 per monthViolin, viola, trumpet, cornet, pBone (plastic trombone), flute, jFlute (plastic flute), Clarineo (plastic clarinet), guitar, ukulele and keyboard.
Monthly hire
£7 per monthB♭ clarinet and trombone.
Monthly hire
£9.75 per monthFrench horn, cello, A clarinet and alto saxophone.
Monthly hire
£12.75 per monthDouble bass, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, bassoon, mini-bassoon, oboe and tuba.
Our team can help families understand suitable sizes, availability and the practical arrangements for collection, maintenance and return.
Support for schools
We have a wide range of class sets available, including samba kits, junk percussion, steel pans, glockenspiels, snare drums and African drums.
Tuned and untuned percussion instruments, including tubular bells, vibraphone, xylophone, marimba, glockenspiel and tam-tam, are also available for short-term or long-term hire.

Help with costs
Free or supported hire may be available for eligible low-income, Pupil Premium and local-authority-looked-after children. Read about fees and bursaries or contact us in confidence.
