Sound Waves

Music Leaders: Kate Pearson and Tom Andrews

Sound Waves provides inclusive music provision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Sessions are held at the York Music Centre at Millthorpe School on Saturday mornings 11.30am to 12.30pm during term time.

Sound Waves covers a wide range of music-making using suitable instruments, body percussion, the voice and technology. It provides an opportunity to engage with high-quality musical activities and social interaction – Make Music Make Friends.

There may be further opportunities for some young people to join in with other activities as appropriate such as the First Access Band, Junior Choir, Steel Pans and World of Rhythm.

If you are interested, please complete the form below. You can also just turn up for a trial session but please contact us to let us know you are attending.
