Instrument hire for young musicians
Hire is available to York Music Education students, subject to instrument availability. Current monthly rates are £5.50, £6.50, £9 or £12 according to the instrument.
Our team can help families understand suitable sizes, availability and the practical arrangements for collection, maintenance and return.
Support for schools
We also provide instruments as part of school music programmes, including whole-class teaching where agreed. This gives schools access to maintained local stock without building every programme from scratch.
Help with costs
Free or supported hire may be available for eligible low-income, Pupil Premium and local-authority-looked-after children. Read about fees and bursaries or contact us in confidence.
